For the last several years Israel is under the “attack” of a huge buildings. These of 30-40 floor buildings change a look of the country center. Tel-Aviv for example becomes to be to much high in all the aspects.
The main question, what is the reason ? Why instead of invest into peripheral towns, creating good roads, financing high-tech areas, making these towns simply attractive, the center becomes to be more and more expensive ?

Someone tries to sell us an air for a big money and succeeds for now.

Insincerity – how it works

Nothing happens without a reason.
Have you felt once a full dirty insincerity ? Recently I was a witness of several occurrences that showed me the real meaning of “high, only business, management”.
I have a workmate who worked on site for several years, but unfortunately he had a personal issue with a higher site manager. Their relationships have been fully broken, but his professionalism was very important for the site. The higher manager, take step backward. This step was just a backup for a real operation, when under the cover of laughing and jocking the substitution for that guy is in progress. Under these circumstances the behavior become to be very problematic, different persons became to be enemies instead of being friends. How is that ?
Insincerity is crucial element of the politics nowadays. Have you asked yourself at least once, do I want somebody treats me that way ?

Why the schedule can be rescheduled ?

Why the schedule that scheduled after taking in consideration different aspects related to the team, current activity, some future activity prediction providing additional time buffers can be broken ?
The main cause of such effects is inability of managers to delegate responsibility to the lower managers because of such managers lack or in many cases lack of desire from the side of those “managers” to take that responsibility. This can be described by misunderstanding or just by non wide thinking.
I saw several times when such things happened, how project manager has “sat on the head” of the lower manager without any kind of understanding and ability to give some comprehensive suggestion. He wanted results, he didn’t want to wait, he didn’t manage the risks and tasks including sub-tasks. Eventually, results were far away from the desired one, but why ? Why some people afraid to give and others afraid to take ?
Meanwhile a lot of parasites live in the middle.

The Bank Leumi (Israel) callcenter project

Two months ago the project has been successfully and logically finished, when it started to function in Production with about 300 concurrent users. The project has very abnormal integration layer, when the most problematic issue is a lack of standardization in integration protocols, variety of peripheral systems and integration on the client side.
The problem with this kind of integration process is in a fact that new application system has only the web thin client.
In spite of many problems we succeeded get it to the logical conclusion although very problematic main contractor’s management and entirely open scope. In fact time, scope and cost management suffered a lot of reasonable management lack and as consequence the quality could be not enough.
The hard work of development team that included supervising of analysts overcame the reality.

Cheques viewer – a misterous of complete ignorance

You know, sometimes, different things just happen. It just like a rain or weather or getting older, you’re just feeling like be somewhere else. Laugh and anger clear the place for amazing feeling of cynical disgrace.
Recently I was an observer of such a thing.
During our last implementation we’d met a neediness to implement an application that will be integrated in our system and allow viewing the cheques of bank’s customer. The application that we had to point for that purpose was some web service. In order to work with that we should get some technical specifications, system administrator should administer the web server according the guidance of that service creators. Of course nothing happened simple, but project clock is ticking and the management instead of dealing with the root problem started to find different solutions, but I’m running to much fast.
So, after a months of work with complete lack of any specifications, using direct connection with developer who did each time a fair speaking with us, we succeeded to implement the application at the Development environment. Oh. it is so magnificent, each environment has its own cheques viewing application and there is no way just move it without any environmental oriented changes. Of course, even after we have trandferred it to QA environment the problems had started to pop up. Firstly the appropriate IIS (web server) customization should be done, but customer refused to do that, saying that this is our responsiblity. Our management, like I said, without any understanding of things matter, pointed all its energy for making us doing that. Here, I must say that nobody of my development team is not a system administrator, moreover none of us doesn’t have an appropriate rights and options to make all necessary changes during the tests, when such are crucial since we need to study security, IIS, MS server 2003, ADSI first , but “for insane dog 100 miles is not a circle” and we did it, it took plenty of time, extra hours, home work and extra efforts. As result we sent an official email with all the relevant information that we found out regarding that customization should be done in IIS (web server). Of course bank’s project management had seen us in its dreams “in coffin wearing white slippers”, and didn’t do almost anything, except several changes that should be changed after. And all this with our complete luck of ability to check anything by ourselves without being obeyers of different ours “workmates”.

The Moor did his work, the moor can die

How many times did you see the work place through the prisma of a regular life ? I think that almost everyone at least once felt this feeling, that work and everything related to it somehow has roots in our own philosophy. We act according our vision even under the constraints that work applies on us, it is impossible to be different person at work for a long time. Eventually it will explode and cause to unpredictable psychological results.
The ability of person’s weakness usage is a popular way to clear a route to success, when ‘the moors who did the work can die’. These ‘moors’ have no vote the cannot act on they own. Within a time ‘weaknesses users’ associate the success to their ability to rule, under this philosophy ‘moor’ can work and accept from time to time some kind of attention marks.
The cases when ‘moors’ try to do something for themselves is completely impossible from ‘weakness users’ perspective, they badly understand what exactly was wrong and another time see the problem in a ‘moor’, because they cannot be associated with nothing except success.
Main problem is that many ‘moors’ cannot see themselves out of this problematic symbiosis.
Everybody gets exactly what he/she worthy. Is that right ?
